Trekking in Nepal

Annapurna Circuit

This classic circuit of the Annapurna Massif starts in the subtropical lowlands and gradually climbs through rice terraces, rhododendron forest, alpine meadows and over ridges to cross the Thorung-La (5416m).With ever changing mountain views and diverse cultures, each day brings new surprises. A great trek with some tough days.

The Annapurna region is justly famous for its stunning and varied mountain scenery, however with its many lodges and teahouses, an added benefit of this trek is its introduction of trekkers to a succession of different local communities.

The Thorung La is tough, but the views of snow-covered peaks and glaciers are ample recompense, and the fact that this route has been used by pilgrims and traders for hundreds of years acts as inspiration.

A steep descent leads to the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge which we follow for three days past sacred Hindu temples and juniper forests to reach hot springs. Finally we make a pre-dawn ascent of Poon Hill to watch the sunrise before descending to Pokhara for our flight back to Kathmandu.
