Patagonia Contrasts
With two linking flights down the Andes this ambitious itinerary manages to capture great walking in three of Patagonia’s most exciting locations.
At Bariloche, Argentina’s Chamonix in an alpine lakeside setting, we hike to an overnight mountain refuge under Cerro Tronador.
Further south, after visiting the dramatic calving glacier of Perito Moreno we travel north to the ‘Los Glaciares’ National Park and the incredible skyline of granite peaks and spires, among them the famous Cerro Fitzroy and Cerro Torre. We walk to great viewpoints and spend a day on the glacier.
Finally we touch down in Ushuaia on southernmost Tierra del Fuego, walking coastal tracks, hiking up into the mountains and sailing the Beagle channel. Camping in Fitzroy only.
