Patagonia Contrasts

At last, a long awaited High Places 'Contrasts' trip in Patagonia! Linking flights (included in price) make it possible to cover the vast distance (2500kms between Bariloche and Tierra del Fuego) and also do plenty of walking.

But first to set the scene, an exciting weekend in Buenos Aires, one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Time for the city sights and sounds, a boating or Sunday market option and of course a Tango Club finale!

Bariloche is Argentina's Chamonix in an alpine lakeside setting. A day hike and an overnight in a mountain refuge leads to a steady rafting descent of the Rio Manso.

To El Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier before the equally stunning but less visited Fitzroy peaks. Energetic hikes to the great viewpoints and a foray onto the glacier.

We fly to Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia where a boat trip in the Beagle Channel is memorable. Good walks in the National Park also offer some minor summits and great views.
