The Inca Two-step! Cusco and Lake Titicaca
Across the Andes with the Incas! An unhurried and well-balanced itinerary which captures the colour and vibrancy of the people and landscapes in the heart of the Inca Empire. Continually active with easy walking and a wealth of experiences.
Crisp morning air and blue sky are likely to greet our arrival in Cusco but at 3350m, we must move slowly for the first days. This is the time to acclimatise and begin to absorb new sights and sounds of the Andes - the Inca stonework, colonial architecture, plazas, markets, street cafes and Andean music.
We travel across the rolling altiplano to the emerald blue Lake Titicaca and visit floating islands, home-stay with local people and hike ancient trails on the Island of the Sun, birthplace of the sun and moon and of the first Incas. Back now in Cusco, we will be well acclimatised for our exciting finale. Our journey to Machu Picchu is combined with a traditional Andean market, the Inca terraces of Ollantaytambo and the iconic train ride along the Urubamba valley.
