Kenya Contrasts

An exceptional African experience. Superb wildlife in the Maasai Mara, bush trekking, a Rift Valley volcano ascent and a traverse of Mount Kenya all combine to paint a complete picture of the wildlife, culture and scenery of the African wilderness.

From Nairobi we head to our secluded camp in the Maasai Mara, perhaps the best game reserve in east Africa, where, among others we should see, wildebeest, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe and hippo.

Now trekking with the Maasai through the Loita Hills for an insight into the way of life of these famed people.

Before we start our traverse of Mt Kenya we relax by Lake Naivasha with an optional ascent of Mt Longonot. Our gentle ascent of Mt Kenya ensures good acclimatisation and is also the most spectacular. Passing jagged peaks, turquoise tarns and giant mountain flora we reach Point Lenana, the 'hiker's' summit at nearly 5000m.
