About Our Trips | General Information

You must have insurance cover when joining a High Places holiday. Our scheme is arranged with AXA Insurance (UK) plc, Registered in England. No. 78950, Registered Office, 107 Cheapside, London EC2V 6DU, UK. A member of the AXA Group of Companies, AXA Insurance UK plc is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, Registration No 202312. This can be checked by visiting the FSA's website at www.fsa.gov.uk/register. The 24-Hour Worldwide emergency Medical Service is provided by Specialty Assistance, experts in providing friendly and professional emergency help.

Please note that if you choose not to take our recommended insurance then we require confirmation that you have an alternative policy that provides cover for the activities on your trip including helicopter rescue and repatriation.

You can download our insurance scheme details below. Most of the time it is clear which premium applies to your holiday, but not always! If in doubt, contact us. A few tips:

  • The start date of the insurance is the day you leave home, and the end date is the day you return home. The number of days is important because if you miscalculate you may find your insurance has expired before your return.

  • You can take out insurance at the time of booking even if your flights are not yet confirmed and you are not sure of the actual date you will leave home. Once you have taken out insurance, your deposit will be covered under the terms of the scheme. When your flights are finalised, you will need to check that the start date and duration of your cover are correct.

  • Iceland and Jordan are classed as 'Europe', but Greenland and Spitsbergen are classed as 'worldwide'.

  • If you live in USA or Canada, you will need to use the USA/Canada rates.

  • If you are travelling via USA or Canada you may need to use the USA/Canada rates, depending on the duration of your stopover. Contact us for more details.

  • If you are aged 66 or over at the time the insurance is taken out, the premium is doubled.

  • All our trips are covered under the standard policy, so you don't need 'winter sports cover' for any of our 'Peaks' trips.

  • Annual Insurance is available to residents of Europe only.

  • Our online booking system is being set up to allow for the norm, so if you are 66 or over, or are extending your trip, the premium may be higher. We will contact you to confirm the final premium if it differs from the amount shown.
